Discover more from Not On Your Team, But Always Fair
I have been using Substack Notes for a while (the note on the piece below isn’t my first), but it’s taken some time for me to figure out (and I’m not all the way there yet, either, being a fat-fingered technophobe).
However, it does seem to be a healthier environment than Twitter or other social media platforms, at least at present.
I plan to use Notes for things that don’t fit in the newsletter, like work-in-progress, thought-bubbles, and quick questions.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Not On Your Team, But Always Fair, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around.
You can also share notes of your own. I hope to see some of them in due course.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Yes, I have joined Substack Notes
One does have to dodge the femino-woke a bit more on Notes these days since the apparent influx of the offended Twitterati. But it is nice to see that the majority of Substack people on Notes aren't keen to let that set take over the conversation.
"healthier environment", indeed. Though still something of a work-in-progress.
I had complained to Substack Support that there's no easy way for us to see the Substack Notes we've posted to other Substack posts -- you may not have noticed the "share to Notes" option, though it's available only on top-level comments.
I had suggested they might want to implement something like Twitter's "Tweets/Tweets-with-Replies" dichotomy which they had thanked me for. You may wish to consider adding your voice to that conversation 🙂.
