In place we have a well-crafted representative republic whose representatives have chosen to buy and sell our representation. Once that is stopped, and just try to imagine that staggering concept, the people might actually make the decisions.
George Washington at first, immediately following the surrender of the British, wasn’t keen on leading. Dwight Eisenhower, same. A lot of people won’t want to hear this, but Donald Trump did so out of a sense of duty.
Now if I haven’t lost you, a single correction. I’m pretty sure I’m older than you, right or wrong, I’ve lived through boom times and the opposite, and it isn’t the former that makes us complacent. It’s scrambling to play the game, whatever the rules, for our daily bread. That is especially true for those with families. Clearly politicians and political realities have always been out of the reach of individuals. An individual who seeks to make a difference quickly finds that he must play the game to survive, and he won’t be setting the rules.
There is a concerted effort that has been building for decades a Convention of States per Consititution Article V. Mr. Meckler leads it, has been surveilled and hounded for it, and the effort is being denounced by globalists and media, proof that they’re afraid of it. They’ve gone so far as to enter state legislatures to try to change minds, stop the effort altogether.
The current effort has its own establishment and they’ve decided on changes to be proposed at said convention, when they reach 34 states. And they are close to that. To my mind it does not go far enough.
I don’t see how it can solve our problems if it doesn’t 1) outlaw “contributions” from foreign actors at every level of government, 2) outlaw lobbying, an open bribery effort, 3) sale of representation, including ‘the way politics work’ or dealmaking. They’re big on term limits but it seems to me, rewriting the Constitution is big enough to call for ALL NEW leadership. From the top down.
I’ve given you plenty to think about.
I posted this link many times on the former Twitter. Lots of likes, little action.
Something to add. I’ve advocated a complete and irrefutable separation between business and state, in exactly the same manner as church and state are separated. Otherwise we can expect a Coca-Cola sign in front of the White House. The Founders could not have foreseen the rise of a corporatocracy, now led either by the German WEF or the Chinese, depending on one’s part of the world. Another on Substack argued with that, business leaders as part of the “political economy” deserve representation. I say they only deserve it as individual citizens. If an “economics board” is needed, it can be no more than advisory in its capacity.
Devil’s advocate, perhaps?

The Tree of Liberty might flourish anew.
I haven’t given you enough credit.

And for Gods sake lets dump the Fed.
